Ten minutes

At ten minutes past twelve, his heart stopped beating.
At nine minutes past twelve, he heard the telephone ringing.
At seven minutes past twelve, he remembered a dinner at which his father was crying.
At six minutes past twelve, he felt that his back was getting wet.
At five minutes past twelve, he saw a motionless spider on the ceiling.
At four minutes past twelve, he heard a shout: “The salt, Jorge, the salt!”
At three minutes past twelve, he opened his eyes.
At three seconds past twelve, he fell on the floor.
At twelve sharp he pulled the trigger.
